Dental Implants

Missing teeth and improperly fitting dentures can result in an insecure smile. Talk to our expert staff to see if dental implants are the right restorative option for you.

What They Are

Dental implants are a popular and effective long-term solution to replace missing teeth. Titanium and other compatible materials are used to comprise a post which is surgically placed in the jawbone and serves as a sturdy anchor for natural-looking replacement teeth.

Getting Implants

Generally, there are three phases to getting an implant: First, the oral surgeon will surgically place the implant(s) into the jawbone.

Next, the bone heals and grows around the implant in a process called osseointegration. This process is what makes an implant so strong and can take up to several months to be fully complete. Finally, a customized crown will be created based on the size, shape, color and fit of your original tooth and placed on the implant. When completed, it will blend perfectly with your surrounding teeth. Custom-made bridges or dentures will be made to fit your mouth and your implants if more than one tooth needs to be replaced. For your convenience in eating and speaking, we can offer a temporary replacement until the permanent one is ready.
